How attendance and leave work
What a check-in records, how leave requests are approved, and which days count as working days.
Attendance in Rasoi HRM is a same-day check-in and check-out. Leave is a request that a manager or HR approves. Payroll reads both. If the attendance is wrong, the payslip will be wrong.
Check-in and check-out
An employee opens Attendance and checks in when work starts. The screen keeps the time they have been checked in. They check out when work ends. The day stores the status and the worked time. Checking in and forgetting to check out leaves an open day, so the employee should check out before midnight.
HR can open the attendance report for the company, filter a month, and export it when that permission is on their role. An employee sees their own attendance, not the whole company.
What counts as a working day
Sunday is a non-working day. A company holiday is also a non-working day. The monthly working-day count is the number of days in the month that are not Sundays and not company holidays. If a holiday is on a Sunday, that Sunday is still one non-working day, not two.
Example: October 2026 has 31 days and four Sundays, so the default working days are 27. If 2 October is a Friday holiday, the working days become 26.
Leave requests
The employee applies from Apply leave and can see the request later under Leave history. The approver opens Leave requests, looks at the dates, and approves or declines. Approved paid leave counts as a paid day in payroll. A day with no check-in and no approved paid leave is an absent day.
Leave balances are edited from Leave balances, which is a separate permission from approving requests. Give both only to the person who should change how many days someone has left.
Late arrival and overtime
A shift can include grace minutes. Time worked past the shift can be stored as overtime minutes. Payroll can pay overtime from the multiplier on that employee’s salary structure. If you do not want overtime pay, leave the overtime multiplier at the company default and do not rely on extra hours to increase net pay.
Work from home
Work-from-home requests are separate from office check-in. They are reviewed on the IT delivery screen. Approving work from home does not by itself create a check-in. The employee still needs an attendance record for that day if the day should count as present.
